Planning a multi-service appointment: a worked duration example
When one visit includes two services, consider the total duration and preparation time alongside the start time.
Define each service duration separately
A haircut and a treatment do not have to take the same time. Estimate using the normal workflow rather than the shortest previous visit. In Rezerve, consider the selected services and duration information together when planning an appointment.
Total service time is different from a gap
A 30-minute service and a 45-minute service total 75 minutes. If preparation or cleaning needs another 15 minutes, allow 90 minutes in your operational plan. This guide does not promise automatic buffer-time or staff-assignment features.
Check the following appointment after a change
When a customer adds another service, do not update the price alone. Check the new total time, closing time and the next booking. Reviewing the record alongside the calendar exposes an incorrect assumption about the next start.
| Service or gap | Time | Duration and detail |
|---|---|---|
| First service | Starts 09:00 | 30 minutes |
| Second service | Starts 09:30 | 45 minutes; ends 10:15 |
| Example preparation gap | 10:15–10:30 | 15 minutes planned separately |
Worked example
A customer starting a haircut and treatment at 09:00 finishes the services at 10:15. A following booking at 10:00 overlaps by 15 minutes. If preparation is needed, 10:30 may be a suitable next start; your business sets the actual durations.
Before you apply this
- Check each service duration separately.
- Recalculate the total when adding services.
- Review preparation, closing and the next booking together.
